Established in 2016, Rain City Rewind plays Grunge and Alternative Rock - Big hits and B sides, mostly from the 90’s or thereabouts, focusing heavily on the enormous amount of great music being put out in the 80's & 90's from the Northwest and other areas around the globe. We play mostly in the Greater Seattle area: venues such as The Moore Theatre, Snoqualmie Casino, Aurora Borealis, Skylark, High Dive, Hard Rock Cafe, Substation, Royal Bear, and more. We are open to traveling around the Puget Sound/Western Washington Area. We even play a FREE BOAT-IN ONLY concert every year on the shores of Puget Sound outside Olympia, started during the Covid-19 shutdown!

Our high energy rock showcases Seattle hometown and PNW alternative music giants from the 80's and 90's: Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees...

We add in other great bands in the genre like Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more.

The result is tight, fast-paced sets that ignite crowds with this iconic music made by Gen-Xers and loved by any audience, anywhere from Boomers to Gen-Xers, Millennials and Gen-Zers.

Since 2016, we have filled venues with these music gems from our own area and our own time, played live and loud as they were meant to be heard and as we remember them... in Rain City Rewind.

Greg Barnes

Born and raised in Los Angeles. Greg was drawn to the drums at a very early age. Through a neighbor, Greg had his first chance to play at age 6 and never looked back. During the early 90’s, Greg cut his teeth in the clubs of Hollywood and beyond with an alternative band named Clay. Through that experience, he was very fortunate to share the stage and studio with some incredibly talented and seasoned musicians. Later, Greg spent a decade in the very healthy and competitive Salt Lake City metal scene. Greg first came to Seattle in 2017. After setting in, he joined the 70’s-to-current rock cover band and south-end favorite, Tapshackled. Shortly after, in 2018, Greg joined Rain City Rewind
